Common Activation Issues

Below are the 3 main types of activation issues:

• Connection to the server failed.
• The product key has already been activated on the maximum number of computers
• The key is not valid

Connection issue to the activation server

If the activation window appears to be unresponsive after hitting Activate, it may be an indication that there is an issue connecting to the activation service.

 You may also see the message "Connection to the server failed.":

The product key has already been activated on the maximum number of computers

This will occur if the serial number entered has already been used for activation.

Any user may have up to two devices activated per license provided only one license is being used at a time. By default, SigmaXL licenses have one activation. 

Contact support to enable a second activation for another computer, for example a work laptop or home computer.

The key is not valid
