SigmaXL VeriSign digital signature

All supported releases of SigmaXL contain a valid, up to date VeriSign signature. A VeriSign signature serves as a digital "shrink wrap" which ensures product integrity.

Most published software has a unique hash value (or checksum). A hash value is sometimes used as a "thumb print," and is checked to ensure that a particular file was created by the publisher, and has not been modified. When a software package is downloaded, the unique hash value of the setup file is compared with the hash value on file with the Certificate Authority (in this case, VeriSign). This ensures that the software the user downloads is the same software that was certified by VeriSign. All VeriSign signatures must be renewed every 3 years.

In a nutshell, a VeriSign signature ensures that the file you're downloading is exactly what it claims to be, and has not been modified or tampered with in any way. A key additional benefit is decreased security warnings in combination with added security.
