Determine whether to install SigmaXL 32-bit or 64-bit
The SigmaXL installation file automatically chooses the appropriate bit version of SigmaXL to install for your version of Excel. In some circumstances, installation can only be completed through the use of an executable installation file (.exe).
There are two different executable versions of the SigmaXL installer for Windows: 32-bit and 64-bit.
- is required for systems with a 64-bit
- version of Office
- The 32-bit version of SigmaXL is required for systems with a 32-bit version of Office

Note that it is absolutely possible to have a 64-bit version of Windows with a 32-bit version of Office. All other users should use the 32-bit version of SigmaXL. |
The method to verify the installed version of Excel does not differ much between each version. Generally, click File > Account >Click Excel's File menu, then click (1) Account > (2) About Excel:

In the above scenarios, a user would want to install the 32-bit version of SigmaXL, available for download in the link below:

If you install a version of SigmaXL that is incompatible with your Excel bit-type, you will see a notification window instructing you to contact support@sigmaxl.com to request the correct version.

You may also encounter the error below if you install the incorrect version of SigmaXL.
This error can easily be resolved by uninstalling SigmaXL, and re-installing the version appropriate for your Office platformscenario, the 64-bit version of SigmaXL should be installed.
The bit version of SigmaXL can be determined by checking which Program Files folder the application installed in.
- 32-bit SigmaXL: Located in C:\Program Files (x86)\SigmaXL\(version number)
- 64-bit SigmaXL: Located in C:\Program Files\SigmaXL\(version number)
If an incompatible version of SigmaXL has been installed for the existing Excel bit-type, or if Office was recently upgraded to a different bit-version, completely uninstall SigmaXL before reinstalling it.
