Error stating that the workbook is Corrupt when opening SigmaXL


User file permission issues in Windows may cause the following errors:

To resolve these issues, change the file permissions for the file SigmaXL.xlam by following the instructions below.

IMPORTANT

You must have administrator access to complete these steps.

  1. Open File Explorer and navigate to the folder C:\Program Files\SigmaXL\V9:



    For 32-bit Users

    32-bit users must navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\SigmaXL\V9

  2. Right click the file (1) SigmaXL.xlam (Or SigmaXL if file extensions are hidden) and click (2) Properties:



  3. Click the Security tab:



  4. Click Edit and enter your administrator password:



  5. Ensure (1) Users is selected in the top pane, and click to add a check in the checkbox under (2) Allow for Full control in the bottom list. Click (3) OK:



  6. Attempt to open SigmaXL.
