Troubleshooter - SigmaXL for Mac

Issue

SigmaXL is not working or my results appear incomplete.


This troubleshooter is for SigmaXL for Mac. Click here for the SigmaXL troubleshooter for Windows.

  1. Clear SigmaXL Saved Defaults

  2. Ensure Excel is up to date

  3. Ensure SigmaXL is up to date

  4. Enable Rosetta for Excel if your Mac has a Silicon M1 Processor

 


Step 1. Clear SigmaXL Saved Defaults: 



Many issues can be resolved by simply clearing SigmaXL’s saved defaults. To do this, click SigmaXL > Help > SigmaXL Defaults > Clear Saved Defaults:

Step 2. Ensure Excel is up to date: 



SigmaXL requires Excel for Office 365 or Excel 2019 with the most recent updates. 

To determine your version, launch Excel and select Excel > About Excel. 

To update, open Excel and click Help > Check for Updates:





When presented with the Microsoft AutoUpdate window, click Check for Updates:



 


If updates are available, review the list of updates and ensure they are selected in the Install column. Click Install:








Step 3. Ensure SigmaXL is up to date 



SigmaXL Version 10 is compatible with Excel for Office 365 and Excel 2019 for Mac. If this version is not installed, trash the SigmaXL folder and click here to download the correct version.



Note: Excel versions 2016 and older are not supported.






Step 4. Enable Rosetta for Excel if your Mac has a Silicon M1 Processor 



SigmaXL is compatible with newer Macs with M1 processors. Apple's Rosetta must be enabled for Microsoft Excel before running SigmaXL.
