How to resolve Run-time error: '27'
This error occurs when Excel is unable to locate the SigmaXL ribbon. To resolve error 27, complete the instructions below.
- Open Excel and click File:
- Click Options:
- In the Excel Options window, click (1) Add-ins > (2) Go...:
- Click Browse...:
Add SigmaXL_Classic_2016_Ribbon.xlam to the Add-ins list:

The path to the SigmaXL installation directory will be different depending on which bit version of Office is installed. To confirm your bit version, click here.
Navigate to the (1) C:\Program Files (x86)\SigmaXL\V9 directory, (2) select the file SigmaXL_Classic_2016_Ribbon.xlam and (3) click OK:
Navigate to the (1) C:\Program Files\SigmaXL\V9 directory, (2) select the file SigmaXL_Classic_2016_Ribbon.xlam and (3) click OK:
- Ensure there is a checkmark in the checkbox beside SigmaXL_Classic_2016_Ribbon and click OK:
Note
The SigmaXL ribbon will be set to load automatically with Excel. Please ensure SigmaXL is opened before attempting to use it.
Alternatively, SigmaXL can also be set to load automatically.
