How do I load SigmaXL automatically with Excel?

In order to configure Excel to automatically load SigmaXL when run, perform the following steps:

Important Note

Once SigmaXL is set to load automatically with Excel, the SigmaXL desktop icon should no longer be used. Launch the application simply by opening Excel.


  1. Open Excel and click File:



     Click here if you are unable to find the File menu

    If you are unable to see the File menu because of Excel's Start screen feature, select Blank workbook:

  2. Select Options:



  3. In the Excel Options window, select (1) Add-ins in the left-hand menu, and in the right hand window beside Manage Excel Add-ins click (2) Go...:



  4. Select Browse... in the Add-Ins window:



  5. Navigate to (1) SigmaXL's installation directory C:\Program Files (x86)\SigmaXL\V8 and (2) select the file SigmaXL.xlam. Click (3) OK to close the Browse window:



    Important: 64-bit SigmaXL Users

    For the 64-bit version of SigmaXL, navigate to C:\Program Files\SigmaXL\V8, select SigmaXL.xlam and click OK.

  6. Ensure there is a checkmark in the checkbox beside SigmaXL and click OK:
