How to replace a .xlam file in the SigmaXL folder


Follow the steps below to replace an existing SigmaXL.xlam file:

Note

This process requires direct write access to system folders. Please ensure you have administrative privileges prior to attempting the steps included in this article.

  1. Download the new .xlam file provided by SigmaXL.

  2. Click the File Explorer icon on the taskbar located at the bottom of your screen:



  3. Click (1) Downloads in the left hand pane and locate the file (2) SigmaXL.xlam in the right hand pane:



  4. Default security settings require that you unblock .xlam files downloaded from an outside source. To check if this applies to you right click SigmaXL.xlam and click on Properties:



  5. If applicable, click the checkbox beside Unblock, otherwise continue to step 6:


  6. Click OK:


  7. Right click SigmaXL.xlam and select Copy:


  8. Navigate to the SigmaXL installation folder C:\Program Files (x86)\SigmaXL\V8:



    Note for 64-bit users

    The default installation location for the 64-bit version of SigmaXL is C:\Program Files\SigmaXL\V8.

  9. Right click on any blank space in the right hand pane and select Paste:


  10. You will then be prompted by the following screen. Select Replace the file in the destination:
