Confirm version and build numbers in Excel for Mac

Reviewing the version and build number in Excel can be done by following the steps outlined below:

  1. Ensure Excel is the currently selected Application and click Excel > About Excel:



  2. Version and build numbers will be indicated beside Version:



    Note

    Version numbers beginning with the number 14 indicate Office 2011 while version numbers beginning with 15 or 16 indicate Office 2016/Office 365 or 2019.

    Unsupported Versions

    Office 2011 and Office 2016 for Mac are no longer supported by Microsoft and are not compatible with SigmaXL.
