Verify Your SigmaXL Installation

To verify your installation please complete the following 3 examples.

If you do not receive the expected results, please try completing the SigmaXL Troubleshooter.

Normal Random Data

1. SigmaXL can be launched through the desktop icon, using File > Open in Excel, or the start menu (SigmaXL > SigmaXL)
   
   
2. Within Excel, select (1) SigmaXL > (2) Data Manipulation > (3) Random Data > (4) Normal:
   
   
   
   
3. Click OK:
   
   
   
   
4. A new sheet will be created showing 100 rows of random data.
   
   
   

Descriptive Statistics

1. From SigmaXL, Select (1) SigmaXL > (2) Help > (3) Sample Data:
   
   
   
   
2. Open the file Customer Data.xlsx:
   
   
   
   
3. Select (1) SigmaXL > (2) Statistical Tools > (3) Descriptive Statistics:
   
   
   
   
4. Check Use Entire Data Table and click Next >>:
   
   
   
   
5. Select Overall Satisfaction for Numeric Data Variables (Y). Click OK >>:
   
   
   
   
6. Your results should match those shown below:
   
   
   
   

Histogram and Process Capability

1. Return to the datasheet (Sheet 1), alternatively you can press F4.
   
   
2. Select SigmaXL > Graphical Tools > Histograms & Process Capability:
   
   
   
   
3. Check Use Entire Data Table and click Next >>:
   
   
   
   
4. Select Overall Satisfaction for Numeric Data Variables (Y), and set USL = 4, Target = 3, and LSL = 2:
   
   
   
   
5. If your results match those below, you have successfully set up SigmaXL:
