Verifying the Analysis Toolpak

Verifying if the Analysis Toolpak is working


The Analysis Toolpak is a native add-in included with the installation of MS Excel.

Running the Analysis Toolpak can help determine if Excel is the direct cause of any ongoing issues.

  1. Click File:



  2. Select Options:



  3. Select (1) Add-Ins, and click the (2) Go button beside Manage: Excel Add-ins:



  4. In the Add-Ins window, click Analysis Toolpak - VBA to add a check to the checkbox and hit OK:



  5. Click the Data Analysis button which is now added to the Data tab:



  6. Scroll down to select Random Number Generation:



  7. Fill in the values as per the screenshot below:



  8. You should then be taken to a worksheet with 50 random values:


    Note

    If you did not receive similar results there is likely an issue with your installation of MS Office. We recommend running a repair on your installation. If you continue to experience issues after the repair, you will need to contact Microsoft Support directly to troubleshoot further.
