SigmaXL Version 10 - Specified Path is Empty

SigmaXL Version 10 - "Error 2343: Specified path is empty" when attempting to install SigmaXL


To resolve this, select your installed version of Excel:

Important Note

The bit version of Excel is often different than the bit version of Windows. The installation of SigmaXL is dependent on the bit version of Excel. Click here to determine which bit version of Excel is installed.




  1. Follow the link below to download the SigmaXL zip archive:


  2. Navigate to the location where you downloaded the file (typically located in Downloads), right click (In Windows 11, Shift + right-click, or click Show More) the zip file and select Properties:

  3. In the General tab, click (1) Unblock to place a check in the empty checkbox as shown, then click (2) OK:

  4. Back in the folder where SigmaXL_V10_32-bit.zip was downloaded, right-click the file (In Windows 11, Shift + right-click) and click Extract All...




  5. In the Select a Destination and Extract Files window, copy (ctrl+c) and paste (ctrl+v) C:\Program Files (x86) into the click Extract. Alternatively, click Browse... to manually navigate to select the C:\Program Files (x86) folder:




  6. Check (1) Do this for all current items and click (2) Continue to provide administrator permission:

  5. In the Select a Destination and Extract Files window, copy (ctrl+c) and paste (ctrl+v) C:\Program Files and click Extract. Alternatively, click Browse... to manually navigate to select the C:\Program Files directory:




  6. Check (1) Do this for all current items and click (2) Continue to provide administrator permission:


     


Close any open windows and attempt to launch SigmaXL using Excel's File > Open. Click here for instructions.


I followed these steps and SigmaXL is still not working
