Repairing Microsoft Office


Repair your Microsoft Office installation by following these steps:

  1. Open Settings:



  2. Click Apps:



  3. In the list of apps, scroll down until you find and click your version of Microsoft Office, and select Modify:





  4. If you are prompted by User Account Control to allow Microsoft Office to make changes, click Yes:

    There are 2 types of repair options for Office; Quick Repair and Online Repair. Quick Repair scans the Office directory for corruption and replaces only the files it detects as corrupted. Online Repair is a more comprehensive repair and replaces all of Office's core files. 

  5. Select the desired repair option and click Repair:


Note

Microsoft Office may prompt you for your installation CD, so be sure to have it handy. You may also be asked to reactivate or sign in to your Microsoft account.

Repair time usually ranges between 5-20 minutes, and you may need to reboot following the repair.
